Neurological Rehabilitation

Our nervous system is complex and adaptive, and it controls all the parts of our body.

Physiotherapists are trained to treat neurological injuries and conditions, such as a strain to the spine after a car accident, carpal tunnel syndrome, Bell’s Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, and Parkinson’s Disease (read about our Parkinson's Disease program here!). After completing an assessment, your physiotherapist will talk to you about your short term and long term goals.  They will work with you to develop a treatment plan.

Typical goals include managing or relieving pain, improving balance, improving coordination, and improving walking. Exercise programs are often appropriate for neurological conditions, since strength, movement and day-to-day function are often affected.

With nearly all neurological conditions, the sooner rehabilitation begins, the better the results.
