Custom Orthotics

Orthotics are insoles you insert into your shoe or runner.  They are designed to support the 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments that make up your foot.

If you have foot pain, or pain in your back or lower limbs when walking or running, orthotics may help.  Our physiotherapists will evaluate your walking or running and assess your feet to determine whether orthotics are right for you.  They'll be watching for how you carry your weight through your joints, and assess whether this could be causing biomechanical strain that can be alleviated with orthotics.

Custom orthotics can also help treat and prevent plantar fasciitis and arthritis.  They are an option for all ages, even children.  For children, we offer a program for updating orthotics as the child grows.

To create your custom orthotics, we make a cast of your feet and work closely with Paris Orthotics - a prescription foot orthotic laboratory in Vancouver BC.  Paris Orthotics constructs the inserts custom to your feet, based on the casting we create.

We can provide many different materials for your orthotics, to suit your sport, age, activity level and your unique foot condition.
